The Prime Minister stated that the construction of Marigot Hospital has been completed and the facility is waiting for the delivery of equipment and furniture. The hospital is well-equipped and citizens can seek medical treatment in the first quarter of next year.

The Prime Minister pointed out that the high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) machine will be put into use in February 2022, which will provide the radiology department of the island with all the functions of the first-world imaging department and make Dominica the only Caribbean country with a HIFU machine .

The Dominican government has also partnered with the Brenda Stafford Foundation to develop its ophthalmology department. PM Skerrit said the government is making arrangements with the University of Michigan to allow the country to install permanent pacemaker implants.

He added that of the new health centers, six are in operation, while the other six will be completed in the first quarter of 2022. PM Skerrit also highlighted the new health centers in Rosso, St. Joseph and Savannah Paye, whose design is about to be completed.

He further outlined that two weeks ago, the Dominica-China Friendship Hospital commissioned a new MRI machine, which will help improve all citizens' access to early detection and diagnosis services and their affordability.

When talking about non-communicable diseases (NCD), the Prime Minister asserted: "Our government is providing quality medical care for all, and all of us must take personal responsibility and invest in our own health to take care of ourselves."

After the statement, he added: “Reduce our alcohol intake, quit smoking, exercise regularly, and pursue other healthy habits, such as participating in sports. This link between sports and health and well-being is our continued investment in sports across the country. One of the reasons for the infrastructure."
